The bhakti or devotion must be performed selflessly, without the desire for any material rewards. Even the desire for liberation is an inferior desire, since liberation is an automatic by-product of attaining devotion.In this devotion, we can establish five kinds of relationships with the Supreme Being.

We can look upon Him as our King, our Master, our Friend, our Child, or our Beloved. Amongst these, worshipping God as our Beloved, in the mood of the gopies of Vrindaban, is the highest.

Shree Maharaj Ji says:

We wash our clothes with clean water to rid them of impurities. If we wash them with dirty water, they will only get worse. Similarly, we have to wash our hearts clean by inviting only pure personalities in. If we let the impure into our heart, it will only get worse.

चुम्बक का कमाल,शुद्ध लोहे पर होता है, मिलावट वाले पर नहीं हो सकता। जिस लोहे में 90 परसेंट मिलावट है, उसको चुंबक नहीं खींच सकता। वो तो केवल क्लीन(clean) लोहा हो उसी को खींचता है। तो भगवान का अवतार या संत महापुरुष उसी को जल्दी खींच सकते हैं ,जिसका अंत:करण जितना शुद्ध हो। पापात्मा नहीं खिंचता वो हँसता है। बाबाजी क्या बोल रहे थे? भगवान,इन लोगो को और कोई काम नहीं है।मज़ाक बनाते हैं,खिल्ली उड़ाते हैं।

A fish is thirsty in water, when I listen to this I laugh. What an irony? God is sitting within us, He is imbibed in each and every particle and God Himself is bliss, yet we do not feel this bliss because we look for it in the world forgetting our Divine beloved.
