Just like a patient trusts his doctor completely and follows his instructions to get better, a devotee should trust a Saint and His words completely to make spiritual progress. Trusting a Saint is called Faith.

‎'Selflessness' or 'Nishkamta' is a very important point in Bhakti or Devotion. Generally people who perform Bhakti are not Nishkaam i.e. their devotion is not devoid of material desires. People pray to God for attainment of material objects-fame, wealth, son, good job etc. In many famous temples, people make big donations. Why? To get their wish or ‘mannat’ fulfilled. Why should there be a ‘mannat’? We are supposed to abandon love of material possessions to love God whole-heartedly. Instead we pray to God to get more material pleasures! Isn’t this shear insanity? Who would ask for shoes standing in a sweet shop? If he does, wouldn’t he be considered insane. God is the ocean of bliss. And you are asking Him for material gratifications, which will give you nothing other than misery. You are asking for misery standing at the doorsteps of personified bliss.

"THE GURU WHO IGNITES THE FLAME OF DIVINE KNOWLEDGE IN THE HEART OF A DEVOTEE IS GOD HIMSELF,BUT;THE ONE WHO CONSIDERS THE DIVINE GURU AS A HUMAN BEING (Even though he may have accumulated great literal knowledge of the scriptures), IS COMPLETELY IGNORANT AND HIS SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE IS TOTALLY USELESS LIKE AN ELEPHANT'S BATH.
THE LORD,WHOSE GRACIOUS FOOTDUST IS DESIRED BY THE GREAT YOGIS AND GYANIS AND WHO IS SUPREME CONTROLLER OF SOUL AND MAYA,HE HIMSELF DESCENDS ON THE EARTH PLANET AS GURU.BUT SEE THE FALLACY OF THE WORLD THAT,THE IGNORANT SOULS THINK HIM AS AN ORDINARY HUMAN BEING."

भगवननाम में भगवान की समस्त शक्तियाँ विध्यमान हैं। नाम स्वयं में पूर्ण है। किसी अन्य व्यक्ति से दीक्षा लेने की आवश्यकता नहीं है।

वास्तविक गुरु के दिये हुए ज्ञान को सदा पुनरावृत्ति (मनन) के द्वारा पक्का करते रहना चाहिये अन्यथा मायाबद्ध होने के कारण अनादिकालीन अज्ञान उस ज्ञान पर हावी होकर उसे भुला देता है।

जीव में जब तक देहाभिमान है, तब तक वह आसानी के साथ स्वयं अपने आपको कभी भी गिरा हुआ नहीं मानता। अतएव, नित्य होश में रहने वाले एक महापुरुष की आवश्यकता होती है जो उस बेहोश साधक की त्रुटियों को बता-बता कर उसे होश में लाता रहता है।
