If anyone were to again question why the actions of God are beyond our comprehension, then the precise answer is that He is all-knowing and we are ignorant. He is divine and we are material. He is unlimited and we are limited. He is all-powerful and we have very limited powers. He is the inspirer and we are inspired by Him. He is the illuminator and we are the illumined. He is the governor of maya and we are governed by maya. The implication is that God and His actions are totally beyond the comprehension of our material, defective and limited senses, mind and intellect. In the same way, the actions of Saints, who are united with God, are also beyond our comprehension. But at least we can understand the point that though they may be beyond our comprehension, all their actions are divine and solely performed for the welfare of others.

हरि भक्ति सर्वश्रेष्ठ गोविंद राधे |
वाते भी श्रेष्ठ गुरु भक्ति बता दे ||

भावार्थ- सबसे ऊँची भक्ति भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण की है, किन्तु उससे भी ऊँची भक्ति गुरु की है |
 हरि कह ऊधो मेरी गोविंद राधे |
पूजा ते श्रेष्ठ गुरुपूजा बता दे ||

भावार्थ- भगवान् उद्धव से कहते हैं कि हे उद्धव ! मेरी पूजा से श्रेष्ठ गुरु की पूजा है |

गुरु पाछे हरि चले गोविंद राधे |
गुरु पदरज उड़ि पावन बना दे ||

भावार्थ- गुरु की चरण रज को प्राप्त करने के लिये हरि सदा गुरु के पीछे पीछे चलते हैं कि उनकी चरण रज मस्तक पर धारण करके मैं पवित्र हो जाऊँ |

You can never repay your Guru for what he has given you, because material treasures cannot pay for spiritual goods, yet the scriptures state emphatically that you must serve your Guru with body, mind and wealth. Your Guru is not stingy with the spiritual gifts he showers upon you, nor does He ever tire of giving you grace. Why do you think that you have served Him enough?
Be greedy in serving the Guru. The best disciple is he who renders service without the Guru asking for it.
